Grovetown, GA – Bette J. King Salazar, 77, loving wife of 60 years to Ceferino Salazar, entered into rest on Monday, October 3, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Randall Whitaker and Rev. William Eckles officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Bette was born in Augusta, GA to the late Guy and Evelyn King. She worked for the Columbia County Board of Education for many years and was secretary for Sal’s Accounting Services. Bette was a devout Christian and a member of Grove First Baptist Church. She was the pillar of her family and she loved all of them dearly. Bette was an impeccable seamstress and was known for keeping her home spotless. Everything was neat, organized, and in its place. She was an amazing woman.
In addition to her husband, survivors include; two sons; Michael Salazar (Sandra), Edward Salazar (Phyllis), one daughter; Toni Kitchens (Mark), one sister; Gaye Lankford, seven grandchildren; Heather, Michael Jr., Jonathan, Nicole, Austin, Jessica, Jacob, three great grandchildren; Sutton, Bennett, Michael III, niece; Ann Herron (Russ), caregiver & friend; Linda Barber.
Pallbearers will be Mark Kitchens, Jacob Kitchens, Austin Salazar, Jonathan Salazar, Michael Pierce Salazar, Jr., and Ryan Backus. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Grove First Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
