Bernice Tankersley Douglas

Augusta, GA – Mrs. Bernice Tankersley Douglas, beloved wife of the late Mr. J. D. “Jack” Douglas, Jr., entered into rest on April 24, 2013 at Trinity Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Platt’s Crawford Ave. Chapel with Rev. Brian LaFavor officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.

A native of Winfield, GA, Mrs. Douglas was a member of Crawford Ave. Baptist Church. She retired from Johnson Motor Co. as a Clerk. Mrs. Douglas was a nanny to many. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela D. Baud (Hank) of Aiken, SC and Cynthia D. Purvis of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Terri McCoy, Michael Douglas and Matthew Purvis.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Douglas, Matthew Purvis, P.J. Lee, Chris James, Frank Pileggi, and Kenneth Hudson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 11:00AM until service time.
