Bernice Peters

Evans, GA---Mrs. Bernice B. Peters, 94, wife of the late Hinton H. Peters, entered into rest Wednesday, October 17, 2012.

She was born in Meigs, GA, but had lived in the Augusta area for over seventy years. She was a registered nurse, and had retired in 1981 from the Richmond County Board of Health. She had been a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and Warren Baptist Church. She had also attended Bethlehem Advent Christian Church.

Family members include, her daughter, Emily Durham (Derrick), grandchildren, Brett (Ranjani) Durham, Blake (Jennifer) Durham, Elizabeth Gay (Joshua), great grandchildren, Joseph Durham, Maguire, Mayers, Maslin, Maeli, Maribel Durham; Nora-Kate Gay; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel, with Reverend Dave Dillard officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 10:00 am at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augusta Rescue Mission, 526 Walker St, Augusta, GA 30901 or to one’s favorite charity.
