Evans, GA – Mr. Alexander Windsor, 98, a resident of Brandon Wilde, died Saturday July 26, 2008 at Heartland Hospice.

Mr. Windsor was a native of Atlanta, a graduate of Georgia Tech, and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Omicron Delta Kappa. Living in the Augusta area since 1939, he had retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation and as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. His active service during World War II included three years at Camp Gordon where he was Executive Officer to the Director of Supply. He later served as Director of Supply at Ashville, NC, before going to Paris, France for duty with Headquarters European Theater of Operations.

Mr. Windsor was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Jones Windsor. He is survived by his daughter, Stella Windsor Grandin of Evans, and grandson, David Alexander Grandin of Blacksburg, VA.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Wednesday July 30, 2008 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. A private graveside will be held on Thursday July 31, 2008.
