Wilburn Prude "Buster" Brown

January 20, 1960 — March 4, 2024

Wilburn Prude Brown, Jr, 64, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, March 4, 2024.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at Whole Life Ministries, 2621 Washington Road, Augusta, GA, with Dr. Sandra Kennedy officiating.

Wilburn was born in Dallas, Texas, to Wilburn and Mary Ann (Ehart) Brown on January 20, 1960. Although he was named Wilburn Jr. at birth, it wasn’t too long after that his grandmother decided he should be called “Buster,” and that is the name he proudly carried until the Lord called him home. In 2015, Buster left his beloved home of Texas and moved to Augusta, Georgia, where he married Dee Felt on May 20, 2017.

Buster graduated from Christ For The Nations in 1987. However, he credits his love for God and His Word to the rich heritage passed down to him by his father and mother. For more than twenty years, he faithfully served his mother, Mary Ann Brown, as she traveled and ministered around the nation. Buster was more than a son; he was a companion and helper who carried the burden and demands of the ministry, allowing his mother to focus entirely on hearing prophetically from the Lord. Upon moving to Augusta, he joined the staff of Whole Life Ministries, where he worked in the ministry’s restaurant, Honey From the Rock Café, and was part of the ministry’s maintenance team. Affectionately known as “our favorite Texan,” Buster proved himself to be hard-working, trustworthy, and dependable. In addition to working on staff, he served faithfully as the head of the Whole Life Ministries Pastoral Care Ministry. He also served with seven other priests carrying the Ark to and from the sanctuary and chapel. He tirelessly devoted his life to serving the Lord and His people…whatever the need, no matter how great or small, all anyone had to do was ask, and without hesitation, he would be there. Buster was never one to be on the forefront seeking recognition or praise but instead worked quietly behind the scenes, ensuring the ministry ran smoothly. When he did step out to speak, whether to pray or share a word the Lord had given him, his voice thundered with a boldness like of the prophets of old.

Buster loved watching old westerns. He was a fan of John Wayne, and in many ways, his life followed the “John Wayne Code.” His grandson Dom brought him so much joy, whether watching old Godzilla movies together or going on adventures hiking through the woods. His desire was to teach him what it meant to be a godly man and to always stand up for what was right. He never met a stranger and was always kind and compassionate to anyone he encountered.

Buster will be remembered as a man of honor and integrity. He was a devoted and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and faithful friend. Protector and defender, he loved his brother Donnie and would have laid down his life for him. Buster would tell people the happiest day of his life was when he married Dee. On that day, he didn’t just marry her; he embraced her family. For every joy, every crisis, every mountain, and every valley, he was there. He gave love unconditionally, never expecting anything in return. For those who had the privilege of calling Buster family or friend…your life was forever transformed for the better. He was a great, humble man, and we will miss him.

Buster is survived by his wife Dee; his brothers Donald Brown of Augusta, GA, and Edward Brown of Dallas, TX; sister Nichole Brown of Dallas, TX; stepchildren Anna and Grace Felt of Augusta, GA; one grandchild, Dominic Felt VanDyke; and aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

If so desired, memorials may be made to Whole Life Ministries, 2621 Washington Road, Augusta, GA, 30904.
