Walter Thomas (Buddy) Hughes III, age 56, passed into His Savior’s rest on June 19, 2020 in North Augusta, SC.

Buddy is survived by his mother, Doris G Hughes of Augusta, GA; his sister, Melanie Hughes of Johnston, SC; his sister, Cindy Ellis (Mike) of Edgefield, SC; and his best friend and bonus sister, Jo Morris of North Augusta, SC
.
He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Thomas (Biggie) Hughes Jr. of Augusta, GA.
Buddy was born on October 6, 1963 in Augusta, GA to parents Walter Thomas Hughes, Jr. and Doris Gaines. He worked as a maintenance technician for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, in three states and the South Carolina Columbia temple for over 28 years.
Buddy was a caring family man and a loving father. He married Janet Martin in 1992 and the couple had five children together, Moriah Mittelsteadt (Micheal) of Red Bank, SC, Aimee Hughes, Walter Thomas Hughes IV, Mary Hughes, and Benjamin Hughes, of Cayce, SC.
