Teresa Jean Harrison

Teresa Jean Harrison, age 67, passed away peacefully at home in Martinez, GA on July 27, 2021 where she had lived for many years.

Visitation is planned for 1pm on September 11, 2021 at Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 N Belair Rd, Evans, GA. The Memorial service will immediately follow at 2pm.

Teresa was born in Atlanta, Ga to the late Laura Mae (Marlow) Harrison and Dumah Gene Harrison but they soon relocated to the family home area near Bowdon, GA. Teresa was predeceased by her brother David Harrison (Canton, GA) and survived by brothers Ben Harrison (Mauston, WI) and John Harrison (Waleska, GA), as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Teresa graduated from Bowdon High School in 1971 and received her Bachelor’s degree from West Georgia College, Carrollton, GA in 1975. She received her MBA from Brenau University. Teresa worked her entire career in a variety of Industrial Safety assignments for Georgia Power Company and the Southern Companies. Her last position was at Plant Vogtle near Augusta, where she retired in 2011 - but Teresa maintained many friendships at Plant Vogtle.

The family were longtime residents of the Bowdon/Carrollton area and Teresa was raised in Antioch Baptist Church there.
