Scott David McDaniel, 52, of Grovetown, GA, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 10, 2022.

Scott was born in Fort Gordon, GA, to Preston McDaniel and Joanne Sine on December 6, 1969. He attended high school at Briarwood Academy in Warrenton, GA. Scott married his great love and best friend Elizabeth Denny on January 2, 2020, in Augusta, GA. He graduated from North Georgia Technical College (Clarkesville) and South Georgia Technical College (Americus) with degrees in automotive and diesel mechanics.

He worked as an engineer mechanic for John Deere and was celebrating his twenty-fifth-year anniversary with the company. He had a passion for cars and worked as an auto mechanic at Automotive Highlights, where he became both friend and family to the owners.

Many knew Scott as a hard worker and a friend to everyone. If someone needed help, he was always there. He was a volunteer fireman with the Langley Fire Department in Langley, SC, and a dedicated member of the Harlem Masonic Lodge #276 in Harlem, GA.

Scott proudly followed in his father and grandfather’s footsteps and began his Masonic journey by being initiated August 5, 2014 (1st°) and was passed to the 2nd° on September 11, 2014; he achieved Master Mason (3rd°) on November 10, 2014. He was active and loved by his fellow Brethren, and his contributions to the Fraternity and his community will never be forgotten.

Scott is preceded in death by his father, Preston Jesse Arthur McDaniel, his paternal grandparents Preston “Mac” and Elizbeth McDaniel, his maternal grandparents Andrew and Elfriede Galloway, and his stepfather James Sine.

Scott is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth McDaniel of Grovetown, GA, his two beautiful daughters Addie and Annalee McDaniel of Warrenville, SC, his brother Preston Andrew “Andy” McDaniel and wife Robin of Huntersville, NC, his sister Katie McGahee of Summerville, SC, his stepbrother Jason Knight and wife Darlene, and his stepbrother Jared Knight and wife Tracy, all of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Scott also leaves behind his precious mother, Joanne Catherine Sine of Summerville, SC, his spirited stepmother Jane McDaniel of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL., eight grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews, and many more family members who loved and adored him.

Pallbearers will be Drew McDaniel, Noah McGahee, Chris Roland, Jason Roland, Andy Birchmore, and Harold Cain.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local chapters of the SPCA, local fire departments, and Harlem Masonic Lodge #276.

The family will receive friends from 5-9 pm, Friday, March 18, at Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans, GA.

Funeral services will be held at one o’clock in the afternoon, Saturday, March 19th, at Platt’s with Pastor Rick West of First Baptist of Burnettown officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Grovetown. Arrangements are by Platt’s Funeral Home.
