Sandra "Sandy" Moog

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Moog, 83, of Martinez, GA passed away on July 21, 2023.

Sandy was born on December 11, 1939, to Charles and Selma Leffler in Chillicothe, Ohio. It was here that she attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse where heat was limited. Often, on the way to school, she would find a nearby creek so she could wet her clothes, so her teacher would let her sit at the front of the class near the wood stove heater.

Sandy had several occupations throughout her life. She was a switchboard operator with Western Electric; a 911 dispatcher for the Columbia County Sheriff’s Dept; and a top sales manager, and recruiter for both Tupperware and Herbalife. She was so successful with her Tupperware sales that she won a new car! Most notably however, she was a loving wife, and a proud mother to three sons.

Sandy was a woman who never met a stranger and had many hobbies. She loved playing bingo and playing the lottery. She was a very good bowler and liked to make various arts and crafts to include jewelry, rock painting, and crafts with household items.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband, Robert B. Moog; her sons, Scott Pollock, Roger Pollock and his wife Debra; Kenneth Pollock and his wife Petra. Her sister, Wanda Leedom and her husband Austin. Her grandchildren, Logan Pollock and his wife Ryan; Matthew Pollock; Douglas Pollock and his wife Katherine; Roger Pollock Jr and his wife Samantha; Amber Pollock; Michelle Mashak; and Laura Wayland. And her great-grandchildren, Karley; Cameron; and Kaiden.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles “Roger” Leffler and her sister, Shirley Leffler Smith.

Sandy’s family will receive guests at 10am on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 N. Bel Air Rd. Evans, GA 30809. Funeral services will follow at 11am, officiated by Bishop Russell Hines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Committal will be at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler @ Highland Ave, immediately following services.

Pall-Bearers will be as follows: Rusty Trapp Jr; Douglas Pollock; Brandon Trapp; Roger Pollock Jr; Taylor Trapp; Logan Pollock; and Michael Trapp.
