Sandra Grace Fussell Farmer, age 77, died after a long illness from a stroke compounded by a recent bout with COVID on April 13, 2022, at home in Grovetown, GA.

Sandra was born on May 27, 1944, in Savannah, GA, to parents Grace Fussell and Harry Fussell. She graduated from West Rome High School and Georgia College in Milledgeville with a degree in English Literature.

Sandra accompanied her husband, a career Army officer, to his various postings in the United States and overseas, including Fort Benning, GA, Fort Bragg, NC, Fort Bliss, TX, Fort Knox, KY, University of Georgia, Athens, GA, Armed Forces Staff College, Norforrk, VA, Patch Barracks, Stuttgart, GE, Fort Irvin, CA and Fort Gordon, GA. Born with a green thumb, she was proud of her beautiful plants and garden. Small creatures such as birds, butterflies, bees, dragonflies, frogs, lizards and ladybugs held a special place in her affections. An accomplished homemaker, she was an avid reader, marvelous cook, music and movie aficionado, and skilled in many arts and crafts. Her intelligence, wit, and warmth will be missed by all who knew her.
