Ruby Kathryn Manley

October 19, 1932 — December 14, 2023

Ruby Kathryn Manley, 91, passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones on December 14, 2023.


The family will receive friends at Platt’s Funeral Home in Evans, Georgia on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The family will also receive friends in Panama City, Florida at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at 12:30 PM.


Ruby was born in Champaign, Illinois to the late Chester and Jewel Hill on October 19, 1932.


She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband Retired Major Thomas Otto Manley, her beloved granddaughters Katrina Lynn Heermann and Ellie Shihan Kang, and siblings Virginia, Everett, Leonard, Fred, and Chester.


She is survived by her children Karen Heermann, Steven Manley (Hui), Kenneth Manley (Karen), and Barbara Manley-Smith, her sister Alice Mobley, grandchildren Ryan Heermann, Luci Yu, Nicole Dubberly, Sheryl, Krystle and Sophie Manley, Hannah, Kayla, and Noah Smith, great grandchildren Braden, Brenna, and Braxton Heermann, Elliott and Ezra Kang, Alex, Thomas, Julian, Izabella, and Ashlyn Manley, Aria Dubberly, and Jaxon and Ellie Reed, and great great grandchild Arthur Heermann.


Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born and raised in Illinois and lived in many places as she moved with Tom in the military. They moved to Florida after retirement where she lived several years until moving to Georgia to be closer to Barbara and her family in 2010.


Ruby loved God, her family, and friends. She always said she loved being an Air Force Officer’s wife and most of all mother and grandmother. After her children graduated high school, she became a real estate broker and loved working with all the different families to find them homes.


The last 3 years of her life she was assisted in her care by some wonderful caregivers, and they became like family.


Pallbearers are her grandsons Ryan Heermann, and Noah Smith and great grandsons Braden Heermann, Alex Manley, Julian Manley, and Thomas Manley.
