Oliver T. Tommie" Morris

Oliver T. “Tommie” Morris, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 26, 2020.

Tommie was born in Augusta and served in the United States Navy. He worked in advertising and retail for many years before retiring. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Dinkins Morris; and his parents, Ruth and Hansford Morris.

He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Atwood (Rick) of Brandon, Mississippi and Robin Compton (Davern Pinckard) of North Platte, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Thomas Knapp, Nikolas Knapp, Heather Knapp, Kaitlyn Compton, Madison Atwood, and Caleb Atwood; and one great grandchild, Natalia Land.

Tommie loved his family and enjoyed vacationing at the beach with his grandchildren. He was humorous, kindhearted, and would do anything to help people. He loved the Lord and was always active in church.

Due to traveling and current circumstances, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to your local food bank or church.

There will be a private graveside service at Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery.
