Nancy Warren Edenfield

Nancy Warren Edenfield, 62, of Martinez, passed away on June 14, 2023 peacefully at home.

Nancy was born in Augusta, GA on July 28, 1960. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mom, sister, and beloved Nana. She was the best gift-giver. Anyone who knew her well would say she could find the best deals and gave the most thoughtful gifts. She knew it too, as her favorite nickname was “Nana Clause.”

A big kid at heart, she enjoyed watching cartoons with her grandchildren, collecting and donning her favorite character memorabilia, including Rudolph, The Grinch, Bluey, and Looney Tunes. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and could often be found re-watching old victories. Some of her favorite pastimes were decorating for holidays and finding shark teeth while at the beach.

Above all, she was a loyal friend to those she cared for and would go above and beyond to support the needs of those she loved. She will be deeply missed.

Nancy is preceded in death by her mother, Judith Ward, and her step-father, Donald Ward.

She is survived by her husband of 26 years; Mike Edenfield, her daughter; Samantha Mellinger (Caleb Mellinger), siblings; Frank Warren (Karin Warren), Judy Riley, and Troy Warren, and grandchildren; Brady Mellinger (7), Lainey Mellinger (4), and Anna Grace Mellinger (August 2023).

Flowers may be sent to Platt’s Funeral Home on North Belair Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CSRA Humane Society.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Platt’s Funeral Home on N Belair Rd. Immediately following, a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm at Platt’s Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Humphreys of Warren Baptist Church officiating.
