Nancy Dyess Tate

Mrs. Nancy Dyess Tate, beloved wife of the late Charles N. Tate, Sr., entered into rest on Monday, August 22, 2022, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening, August 25, 2022, at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the next day, Friday, August 26, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Glennville Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.

Mrs. Tate was born in Jackson, Mississippi to Carl and Lucille Dyess. While her husband, Charles, was with the Marines, she worked as the director of the Quantico Child Care Center. She then worked at the Merchant and Farmer’s Bank as a cashier for over 25 years before retiring. After moving to Georgia, "Monno" as she was known to her grandchildren, enjoyed spending weekends with her family camping at Clarks Hill Lake. She and her husband loved traveling around the country together and were members of the “Bama Winnies”, a motorhome club. She was also a 30 year member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church and an Alabama football fan.

She is survived by her children; Carl Tate (Julie) and Pam Teston (Wade), a brother, Thomas Dyess (Judy), her grandchildren; Kendra Tate (Cassie), Isabella Tate, Rachel Teston Blackman (Neil), Wesley Teston, Erin Teston Hewett, Riley Teston (Morgan), and her great grandchildren; Eli Hewett, Easton Hewett, Reid Teston, Blake Teston, Karlee Galvez, Jack Blackman, Jesse Blackman, Brody Teston, Lane Teston, Hayes Teston, Mattie Wood and Paisley Wood. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Kim Tate, a sister in law, Eileen Gibson (Charles) and a brother in law, Chip Dobson (Pie).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Norman Tate, Sr., and her son, Charles N. “Buddy” Tate, Jr.
