Miriam C. Burch

Miriam C. Burch, 81 of Fairview, NC passed away at her home Tuesday April 13, 2021 with both daughters by her side. She was born in Augusta Georgia to the late Paul and Sadie Connell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Burch.
Miriam lived on Phillips Street, where she played with her sister and friends. She enjoyed going to the river with Papa, Sista, Uncle Tommy and cousins. She loved spending her days waterskiing on the river and eventually met her husband, Virgil there. They soon married and moved to Asheville NC. She worked at the family drugstore Burch Beverly Hills Drugs for many years and later as a Pharmacy Tech at St. Joseph's Hospital. She would work twelve hour shifts at the hospital and then another four hour shift at Meyers Arnold to help pay for her children's college education. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and planting flowers. She loved caring for her family most of all.
She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Moody; four children, William Christopher Burch, Sadie Teresa Ward, Virgil Kevin Burch, and Miriam Rene Severson; as well as seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11am in the chapel of Platts Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Ave. Augusta, GA 30904 with burial to follow at West View Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
