Josh started his life in a children’s home directed by his parents in Cuba with The Salvation Army and arrived in the states to start a new life when he was 16. He loved the Lord and entered the School for Officers Training with The Salvation Army in 1968 and was commissioned an officer in 1970 with the Undaunted Session, serving in Cumberland, Md and Front Royal, VA. He later served as a minister in charge of Hispanic ministries of El Faro (The Lighthouse), as well as with Windsor Springs and Hillcrest Baptist of Augusta, Ga. His writing abilities were phenomenal, as well as his singing voice and he used those abilities in his non-profit work with The Salvation Army, his ministries, and Hope House of Augusta. His favorite assignment was as a Chaplain’s assistant in the US Army, as well as serving his country in the First Strike 502nd infantry, 81st Division and as a regimental soldier with the 101st Airborne Division. Though never becoming a citizen (one of his goals and hopes never realized) he served his country for almost 18 years and loved reminiscing about those experiences. He joined Shiloh UMC in 2017 when his wife became the Pastor.
