Lloyd Charles Houston

Lloyd Charles “D-Daddy” Houston, age 68, entered into rest on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his residence.

Lloyd was born in Greenville, South Carolina and served in the United States Army National Guard. Losing his biological parents as a child, he was adopted at the age of 8 by the Houston family. Lloyd loved spending time outdoors including hunting, fishing, and gardening; but above all he loved his family. He had a true heart of gold and he was a compassionate soul. Lloyd was a member of Parksville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents, Dorothy “Dot” Runnett Frady and George Herman Frady; and his adoptive parents, Charles Houston and Louise Riggins.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Basey Houston of Parksville; children, Josh Houston (Amanda) of Martinez, Georgia, Kelli Creswell of Greenwood, SC, Brian “Bubba” Basey of Evans, Georgia, and Amber Nicole Beaver (Jonathan) of Evans, Georgia; siblings, Jerry Houston, Ginger Young, Linda Green, Ramona Colton, and George Frady. He was adored as “D-Daddy” by his nine grandchildren, Tyler Houston, Levi Houston, Lauren Creswell, Caroline Creswell, Houston Creswell, Brileigh Basey, Harper Beaver, Charlotte Beaver, and McKenna Beaver. His other pride and joy, second only to his grandchildren, was his loving canine companion, “Princess Sofie Houston.”

A celebration of Lloyd’s life will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Parksville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
