Laura Clemenzi Cameron, beloved wife and mother peacefully, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 28, 2021.

Born January 30, 1916 in Shirley, MA, Laura was a servant to her family and her community living a fruitful life for 105 years. After moving to Augusta in 1946, she was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital for 5 years, followed by the Savannah River Plant for 22 years.

She was a devoted member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the Augusta Chapter American Guild of Organists, the Centenarian Club of the CSRA Agency on Aging and the Summerchase Homeowners Association.

Laura volunteered as the first choir director and organist at St. Mary on-the-Hill, as well as serving as wedding coordinator and sacristan. She was also pianist for many years for Aquinas High School choruses. She assisted at the Catholic Social Services Thrift Store and St. Joseph Hospice. She enjoyed playing the piano for community events, such as the Summerville Tour of Homes and Sacred Heart Garden Events.

She loved ballroom dancing, especially competitions. Having a great love for travel with her siblings, family and friends, Laura visited 50 states and 35 countries, including the Panama Canal. There was no question that Laura was an adventurer pursuing hot-air ballooning, skydiving, deep-sea fishing, cruising, and camping. Laura is now dancing with the angels and probably organizing activities in heaven.

Laura is survived by two daughters, Gina Marie Werrick of Mineral Bluff, GA, and Anita Cameron Wylds (Henry) of Augusta; her son, William Robert Cameron, Jr. (Susan Schafer) of Augusta; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Duncan Werrick of Martinez; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lane Cameron, Robert Phillip Cameron (Beth), Ashlyn Blake Cameron Taylor (Nathan), Laura Kathleen Werrick Martin (Joseph), Tyler Duncan Werrick (Lindsey), Michael Joseph Werrick, and nine great grandchildren.

Col. Edmund Clemenzi, Marie Clemenzi Yanaros, Dorothy Clemenzi Scotto, and Robert Clemenzi.
