Kevin Patrick Corbin

Kevin Patrick Corbin, age 65 of Evans, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 9, 2024, after a prolonged illness. He was born on June 12,1958 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Guy Donald and Joanne Corbin. Kevin excelled at sports and, in high school, was the captain of his football and basketball teams, played baseball, ran track and was voted to the All-Area Football Team. After graduation from high school with high honors, he attended Dartmouth College on a football scholarship. He then attended Wayne State University and earned his pharmacy degree.

Kevin met the love of his life, Carol Lefebvre, in high school and they were together for 50 years, including 38 years of marriage. Upon graduation from Wayne State, Kevin and Carol married and moved to Chicago where Kevin worked as a pharmacist at Evanston Hospital. In 1989, they relocated to Augusta, Georgia where they were both employed by the Medical College of Georgia, Kevin at the hospital pharmacy and Carol at the dental school. Kevin worked in the in-patient, out-patient, OR, Cancer Center and Georgia War Veterans pharmacies over his career. He especially enjoyed listening to the veterans’ stories at Georgia War. Kevin retired in 2020 after 31 years of service to the pharmacy.

Kevin was a devoted husband and father. He was known for his kind and gentle spirit, as well as his wry sense of humor. Kevin enjoyed watching football and basketball, especially the Michigan Wolverines, as well as boating and fishing in his later years. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and traveling with them.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Donald and Joanne Corbin, his brother, Guy Donald Corbin, Jr. and his sister Sharon Needham. Kevin is survived by his wife, Carol, and their children, Kevin Corbin, Jr. and Caitlin Corbin, his sister Karen (Chris) Pinkney, sister-in-law, Diane Lefebvre (Michael Denniss), many nieces and nephews and his extended family.

Kevin’s family is grateful for the excellent medical care he received over the course of his illness from the Wellstar MCG Trauma, Palliative Care and Oncology teams, as well as Georgia Hospice Care.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11am at Platt’s Funeral Home – Evans. The family will receive guests during a reception immediately following.
