Joyce Woods

Mrs. Joyce Woods, beloved wife of the late Gene Woods, entered into rest on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at University Hospital (Piedmont Augusta).

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Matthew Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00 with the service to follow at 1:00 PM. A private family burial will follow the services.

Mrs. Woods was a founding member of Trinity Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her faithfulness and dedication to the services, her Sunday School class, and for many years, the meal service ministry.

She is survived by her children; Teresa Stonehill (Stan), Debbie Harris (Ed), Joe Woods (Michelle) and Linda Fowler (Robert), her brothers and sisters; Larry Bowman (Jeanine), Sandy Shay (Dan), David Bowman (Lesa), Mike Bowman (LuAnn) and Vicki Johnson (Earnest), a sister in law, Janice Bowman, her grandchildren; Adam Harris, Travis Newsome, Bo Harris, Tara Hobbs, Catherine Chandler, Heather Smith, Maddie Woods, Hunter Woods, Sean Stonehill, Brian Stonehill and Allison Ferron. She is also survived by her great grandchildren; Angel Turner, Tia Newsome, Kendall Newsome, Sophie Harris, Tyler Newsome, Dominick Smith, Lizzy Smith, Zeke Chandler, Morgan Stonehill and McKenzie Stonehill, as well as one great great grandchild, Trae Turner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, her parents, Leon and Norma Bowman, a brother, Billy Bowman and grandsons, Timothy Newsome and Terrell Chandler.
