Joyce Bennett Lewis

Joyce Bennett Lewis, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 12, 2022, in the chapel of Platts Funeral Home, Belair Road with Rev. Rick Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Joyce is survived by her children; Ricky Lewis and Kim Pate (Brian), brothers; Jerry Bennett, Johnny Bennett, sisters; Dianne Schoen and Tammie Land, her grandchildren; Austin and Cassidy Pate and one great grandchild; Weston Langford.

Joyce is predeceased by her husband; James Edward Lewis Jr., parents; Robert Lester Bennett Jr and Dorothy Lane Bennett, brother; Ralph Bennett.

Joyce was retired from Columbia County School System, where she served as a school bus driver. She enjoyed working in her yard when she had time. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed life to the fullest.

The family would like to acknowledge Crescent Hospice and nurses, Duwuanna, Cheryl, Gabby and Patricia for caring for Mrs. Joyce during this difficult time.

The family would also like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Maydene Barfield and Debby McFerrin .We would like to thank Trinity Baptist Church and Woodlawn Baptist Church for all your thoughts and prayers.
