John S. "Johnnie" Green, Jr.

John S. “Johnnie” Green, Jr., 91, entered into rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his residence.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Westover Memorial Park.

Johnnie was a 1946 graduate of the Academy of Richmond County. He attended Oglethorpe University where he played on the basketball and tennis team. Johnnie was a 1950 graduate of the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Chi Psi Fraternity. He served his country in the United States Army from 1950-1952. Johnnie worked for 41 years as a General Insurance Agent with Allstate Insurance Company. He was a member of the Augusta Country Club, Champions Retreat Golf Club and the Cliffs Golf and Country Club.

Johnnie is survived by his sons, William D. “Bill” Green and John Stallings Green, III; his grandchildren, Haley N. Green, Hanna M. Green and Robert H. “Bobby” Green; a dear friend, Gloria Ireland and by his special caregiver, Allison Shellstrom.
