Jenny Lou Lewis Mcalhany

Mrs. Jenny Lou Lewis McAlhany went to be with her Savior on January 22, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born on March 31, 1924 in Grovetown, GA to John P. and Inez Jenny Lewis. She married the love of her life Dan McAlhany on June 17, 1942. For many years Jenny worked as a bank teller at the former Georgia Railroad Bank. After moving to Statesboro, GA she worked at Fulton Federal until she moved back to Grovetown.

Jenny was an active member at Warren Baptist Church until her health declined. She enjoyed her Sunday School Class, attending Joy Club and sang in the Senior Choir.

Jenny was preceded in death by her husband Daniel M. McAlhany, her parents John and Inez Lewis, and her sisters Evelyn Lewis, Bootsie Hamilton, and Betty Jean Banks. She is survived by her daughter Kay Rexer (Fred) and her son Dan McAlhany, Jr. (Clara). She is also survived by her grand children Shelly Kennedy (James), Trip McAlhany (Marlene), Jenny Knox (Brandon), and Dana Hutcherson (Jeremy), along with 6 great grandchildren.

A grave side service will be held at Bellevue Cemetery, Grovetown on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with Dave Dillard officiating.

The family would like to thank Brenda Robertson and Laketa Singleton for their loving care during mother’s declining years.
