Jean Bruner

Jean Harriet (Pund) Bruner went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6 p.m. on June 23, 2008 at Washington Commons Retirement Residence. She was 78.

Mrs. Bruner was a native of Augusta, a graduate of the University of Georgia and member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. For many years, she was employed as an executive secretary at Fort Gordon. She was a past member of the Junior League of Augusta and a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church. Jean was an avid golfer and enjoyed golf for many years.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Theodore Pund Jr. and Elberta Olivia (Hester) Pund. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Arthur Bruner.

She is survived by several cousins and numerous dear and loving friends. She wanted to especially remember those many wonderful friends, the staff and residents at Washington Commons who were so supportive to her, and dear friend and care giver, Dottie Geiselman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Magnolia Cemetery with The Reverend Dr. R. Leslie Holmes, Senior Pastor of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, and Pastor Richard D. Geiselman, Pastor of Bath Presbyterian Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to the Building Fund at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2261 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904. Light refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church immediately following the service.
