Janet Catherine Deritis

Janet Catherine DeRitis of Evans, Ga, entered into rest Saturday, March 30, 2024, on her 39th wedding anniversary to her beloved husband, Michael DeRitis.

She was self employed and the owner of Moonglass Company for many years. She had a special place in her heart for her beloved horse Diesel. She also loved knitting and British television programs, and was passionate about swimming, boat rides on Clarks Hill Lake and vacationing on the Florida panhandle.

In addition to her husband, Michael, Janet is survived by her sons Brandon (Erica) DeRitis and Matthew DeRitis; daughter Stefanie (Brian) Chafee; grandchildren Ava, Maxamilliano, and future grandson Emmett; brothers Jim (Jane) Wright and John (Berny) Wright; sister Jean (David) Yamamoto; brother-in-law Albert DeRitis; sisters-in-law Terri Juriga, Joanne Bakic (Tony) and Linda McMannaman (Pat); nephews James (Elise) Wright, Christopher (Christine) Wright and Alex (Maggie) Wright; and many more nieces and nephews.

Preceding Janet in death are her parents, James and Virginia Wright; sister-in-law Sandra Wright; and nephew Daron Yamamoto.

A memorial service celebrating Janet’s life will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 3:00pm at Platt’s Funeral Home, Belair Road Chapel, Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service.
