James "Jimmy" Mcpeake

August 31, 1981 — November 9, 2020

James “Jimmy” McPeake, age 39, of Grovetown entered into rest on Monday, November 9, 2020.
James had a magical green thumb and could make anything grow. He was the owner of Visions Lawn Care and ran a successful business because he could carry on a conversation with every person he encountered. He attended Stevens Creek Church, was an MMA fighter, and he loved classic cars. James loved to cook barbecue and enjoyed critiquing everyone else’s culinary creations. He loved to travel- especially to the beach and to the mountains. James will be remembered for his warm hugs and giving heart, but above all he will be remembered for the love he had for his girls.
As he entered the gates of Heaven, he was greeted by his loving grandparents; and his canine companions, Ty and Lola.
James is survived by his wife, Jessica McPeake of Grovetown; his four year old twin daughters, Madilyn Christian and Ansley James; parents, James McPeake (Alison) of Grovetown and Patricia Thompson (Randall) of Appling; siblings, Anna Lee Harkins (fiancée, Lisa) of Charleston, South Carolina, Christopher Alston (Amanda) of Appling, Hayden McPeake of Grovetown, Malone Heald (Austin) of Martinez, and Mallory McCauley (Christopher) of Martinez; grandmother, Barbara Cook (Bob) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; mother in law and father in law, Brenda Dodson (Jeff) of Monroe and James Awad (Amy) of Martinez; brother in law and sister in law, Jay Flowers of Atlanta and Stevie Blackmon of Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Hunter, Evan, Madison, and Olivia Harkins, Elijah Flowers, and Emery Blackmon; grandmother in law, LaRaye Flowers of Atlanta, and Dorothy Cornan of Atlanta; and his beloved canine companion, Sophie.
A celebration of James’ life will take place at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the Chapel of Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road. Reverend Shawn Edenfield will officiate. Interment will be private.
James loved flowers, but he loved his girls more. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a scholarship fund for Madilyn and Ansley McPeake at any Cadence Bank location.
