Herbert Leroy Cook Sr

With heavy hearts, we're sad to announce the passing of Herbert Leroy Cook Sr., 77, of Augusta, Ga. on October 31, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, and he will be extremely missed. A private ceremony will be held in his remembrance. 

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to make a donation in his name to the Augusta Golden Harvest Food Bank.

Leroy was born in Augusta, Ga to Willie Cook and Dorothy Cobb on Monday, May the 13th, 1946. He attended school at Augusta College. He was married to Virginia Durden Krisnosky in December of 1967 in Augusta, Georgia at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church.

He worked as a Respiratory Therapist at University Hospital in downtown Augusta, Georgia for 35 years.

Leroy's love of gardening was a gift from the Lord our Father. With Leroy's green thumb he could nurture plants to thrive, flourish, and provide a tranquil presence for the soul.

Leroy is survived by his wife Virginia Cook, his son Lee Cook (Hillary Cook), his sister Vera Hanley, and his grandchildren
