Helga Short-Fulmore

Helga Short-Fulmore peacefully transitioned Wednesday afternoon, January 18, 2023 at age 83 and was surrounded in her home by loved ones. She was, first and foremost, a woman who was a giver, an advocate for others, loyal and committed, never took shortcuts, had unconditional love with no boundaries and lived with a get-it-done attitude. She faced the beauty and complexity of life head-on, believing in her core that there was always a solution.

Helga was born in Landshausen, Germany, to Josef Winkler and Barbara Kurz on May 1, 1939. One of five children. She was married to a decorated veteran in the US Army and immigrated to the United States in the early 70’s.

Her passions included her family, gardening, and artisan hobbies. She enjoyed a good estate sale and had amassed sentimental collections that she displayed with the precise organization in the home. She had a vast appreciation for fashion, sports, and music and was a natural when it came to dancing.

She was a natural-born entrepreneur, curious thinker and problem solver—an adventurer with a competitive spirit who enjoyed winning. An award close to her heart was the yard of the week award she won, regularly aligning with her lifelong love affair with landscaping and flowers.

Helga was the pinnacle of organization and highly respected for keeping detailed records on paper and also in her beautifully gifted, razor-sharp mind that highly respected math and numbers. She was a straight shooter with great humor and a Hollywood smile.

Her husband survives her: Ronald Fulmore, and her sister: Traudel Bacher, along with loving nephews, nieces, and their respective families in Germany. Her children include her daughter: Cornelia Clayton, and her husband, Ronnie, residing in Georgia; their children, Vincent and Nicole and the grandkids, Brayden, Camille, Louie, Isaiah, Ja’quay, and Ja’lyzia. Her daughter: Michaela Johnson; her husband, Edward residing in Texas; their children, Chantel and Monique and the grandkids, Jayden and Maxen. Her son: Antony Short; his wife, Richelle, residing in Kansas; their children, Gabrielle and Shelby and her husband, Shane and granddaughter, Vivian. Her daughter: Roenella Amanda Short, resides in Kansas, and her children, Sebastian and Sylas. Her daughter: Shirley Barbara Short, resides in New York.

Helga will be our forever Champion.

May she rest in perfect peace and be honored as truly one of one.

The family is planning a memorial service in Lake City, SC, in early spring, and will again gather to scatter her ashes this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to be given to one of her favorite charities, St Jude Children’s Hospital.

Helga Short Fulmore ist am Mittwoch dem 18.Januar im Alter von 83 Jahren friedlich uebergegangen und war in ihrem Haus von geliebten Menschen umgeben. Sie war in erster Linie eine Frau, die eine Geberin war, eine Fruehsprecherin fuer andere, loyal und engagiert, nie Abkuerzungen nahm, bedingungslose Liebe ohne Grenzen hatte und mit einer Einstellung lebte, es zu tun. Sie stellte sich der Schoenheit und Komplexitaet des Lebens und glaubte fest daran, dass es immer eine Loesung gibt.

Helga wurde am 1. Mai 1939 in Landshausen, Deutschland, als Tochter von Josef Winkler und Barbara Kurz geborn. Sie war eines von fünf Kindern. Sie war mit einem hockdekorierten Veteranen der US-Armee verheiratet und wanderte Anfang der 70er Jahre in die Vereingten Staaten aus.

Zu ihren Leidenschaften gehörten ihre Familie, Gartenarbeit und handwerkliche Hobbys. Sie genoss einen guten Immobilienverkauf und hatte sentimentale Sammlungen angehäuft, die sie mit der Organisation zu Hause ausstellte. Sie hatte eine große Wertschätzung für Mode, Sport und Musik und war ein Naturtalent, wenn es darum ging zum Tanzen.

Sie war eine geborene Unternehmerin, neugierige Denkerin und Problemlöserin – eine Abenteurerin mit Wettkampfgeist, die es genoss zu gewinnen. Eine Auszeichnung, die ihr am Herzen liegt, war die Auszeichnung „Yard of the Week“, die sie gewann und regelmäßig mit ihrer lebenslangen Liebesaffäre mit Landschaftsgestaltung und Blumen in Einklang brachte.

Ihr Ehemann überlebt sie: Ronald Fulmore und ihre Schwester Traudel Bacher; zusammen mit liebevollen Neffen und Nichten und ihren jeweiligen Familien in Deutschland. Zu ihren Kindern gehören Cornelia Clayton und ihr Ehemann Ronnie, die in Georgia leben; ihre Kinder Vincent und Nicole und die Enkelkinder Brayden, Camille, Louie, Isaiah, Ja'Quay und Ja'Iyzia. Ihre Tochter Michaela Johnson und ihr Ehemann Edward leben in Texas; ihre Kinder Chantel und Monique und die Enkelkinder Jayden und Maxen. Ihr Sohn Anthony Short; seine Frau Richelle mit Wohnsitz in Kansas, ihre Kinder Gabrielle und Shelby sowie ihr Ehemann Shane und ihre Enkelin Vivian. Ihre Tochter Roenella Amanda Short lebt in Kansas und ihre Kinder Sebastian und Sylas. Ihre Tochter Shirley Barbara Short lebt in New York.

Helga wird für immer unser Champion sein.

Möge sie in vollkommenem Frieden ruhen und wirklich als eine von ihnen geehrt werden

Die Familie plant im frühen Frühling einen Gedenkgottesdienst in Lake City, South Carolina, wo sie sich diesen Sommer versammeln werden, um ihre Asche zu verstreuen.

Anstelle von Blumen würde die Familie Lieber Spenden an eine ihrer bevorzugten Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, dass St. Jude Children’s Hospital, geben.
