Harold (Hal) Mock, Jr.

Mr. Harold C. (“Hal”) Mock, Jr., beloved husband of Michelle Mock, entered into rest on Saturday April 24, 2021 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 29th, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 825 Greene Street, with the Rev. David B. Hunter officiating. Burial will be private.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Mock was married for more than forty years to Michelle Mock. He leaves cherished memories with his children, Harold Mock, III (Brandie) and Jordan Elizabeth Swain (Tyler) and his grandchildren, Harold “Charlie” Mock, IV and Elizabeth Mock. Additionally, he is survived by his mother, Laverne Mock; his brothers, Steve Mock, Jeff Mock, Greg Mock; his sister, Selita Anne Nevils; and his sister-in-law, Susan Pond. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Mock, Sr.

Mr. Mock served with distinction at Georgia Power and with the U.S. Departments of Defense and State. He built lifelong friendships with his colleagues at home and abroad, particularly at Johnston Atoll in the South Pacific, where he served from 1994 to 2003. Additional postings took him to Iraq, China, Brazil, Paraguay, Indonesia, Myanmar, Macedonia, Bosnia, Iceland, and Italy.
