Glenn Mcnair Morgan

Glenn McNair Morgan entered into rest surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 23, 2022. He had a brief battle with Stage 4 Cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife Billie June Blanchard Morgan (BJ) of 51 years, his daughter, Mary Morgan Mims (Chance), Del Mar, CA. and his son, Glenn McNair Morgan, Jr. (Mac) Atlanta, GA. His children were the light of his life and were his greatest accomplishment. Grandchildren are Morgan Ashley Mims and Asher Ronald Mims.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Marcus Morgan and Pearl DuBose Morgan and his sister, Cecile Morgan Brown.
He was born May 30, 1947, in Montgomery, AL. The family moved to Augusta GA when he was 6 years old. He graduated from Academy of Richmond County and Augusta College with a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration.
He worked at the C&S Bank, management at DSM and co-owned the Cely & Morgan Construction Company.
After retirement in 2003, he acquired a second home in Florida City, Florida where he enjoyed the weather, fishing in the Keys and time with his friends there.
His hobbies included: collecting classic cars, making custom knives, saltwater fishing, playing the piano, attending local concerts, going to Greenbrier baseball games and watching college baseball and football.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Cely III, Mike Gavalas, Bill McClure, Tom Plowden, Jack Poole, John Smith and Sammy Turner.
Pallbearers will be David Bagwell, Jim Cely, Tom Cely, IV, Jason Milford, Chad Sutton and Jeff Thouvenot.
His celebration of life will be on Saturday January 29, 2022, at Platt’s Funeral Home Chapel on Belair Road. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm with service following at 12:00 pm. Rev. Roger Bennett will officiate, he will be laid to rest at Bellevue Memorial Gardens following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to lung or brain cancer or to the Greenbrier Baseball Program (Evans GA).
