George David "Dave" Hasley, Jr.

Mr. George David “Dave” Hasley, Jr., 81, beloved husband of Thelma Chavous Hasley, entered into rest on September 24, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Noe and Rev. Sonny Mason officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hasley served his country proudly in Vietnam with the United States Army. He was a true disciple of God and his mission and legacy was to spread the word of God. Mr. Hasley loved gospel music and was a member of several church choirs and was a member of the Glory Road Singers. He also enjoyed sharing his music with our country’s veterans at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home (Blue Goose). Many of you may have one of his CD’s that he painstakingly recorded and then gifted to others.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Hasley is survived by his children, Sonny Alley (Liz), Debbie Thorne (Butler), Susan Shouse (Greg), and Fran Price; his grandchildren, Brittany Napier, Sherri Koon, Trey Thorne, Alison Thorne, Amy Thorne, Misty King and Trip Alley; his great-grandchildren, Barrett Collins, Jackson Napier and Isaac Koon; and his siblings, Jay Hasley (Shirley), James Hasley, Beverly Knight (Dennis), Pamela Allison (Gary) and Patrick Hasley. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Valinda Hasley; his son, David Dean Hasley; his parents, George and Irene Hensley; his beloved uncle, Overton Hasley; his siblings, Larry Hasley, Terry Wright, and Richard Hasley.

The family will receive friends in the chapel prior to the service from 10:00 AM until service time.
