Rev. Dr. Sarah K. Ferguson joined the host of angels as she departed this life, December 19, 2020 in Evans, Georgia. Sarah K. Ferguson was born March 22, 1954 in Dade City, Florida to the late Ms. Edna Jones.
As a child, she enjoyed spending time learning about her family traditions and customs, especially cooking. She graduated with Honors from Pasco Comprehensive High School in Dade City, Florida. Upon graduating from high school, Sarah attended Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. As an undergraduate student at Johnson C. After graduating from college, Sarah moved to Nashville, TN, where she worked as a claims adjuster. In Nashville, she met the love of her life, Dr. Vincent Tommy Francis Ferguson. She was richly blessed by her marriage of 40 years.
As a military family, they were stationed at several army bases, which included Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Hanau, Germany, and Fort Gordon, Georgia. After serving over 18 years of military service, the family settled in Evans, Georgia.
While stationed at Fort Bragg, she was a member of St. Joseph Episcopal Church. She made Whole Life Ministries her permanent church home when the family moved to the Augusta area.
Sarah’s generosity, smile, jubilant spirit, and caring nature attracted strangers who would inevitably become friends, and once a friend of Sarah’s, one was treated more like a family member.
Sarah’s zest for life and willingness to give, will forever be remembered and honored by her “Honey”, Dr. Vincent Ferguson. Two sons, Vincent Francis Christopher Ferguson of Brooklyn, New York and Victor Eugene Ferguson of Baltimore, Maryland. Grandson Gabriel Vincent Alexander Ferguson.
