Douglas Kenneth Deatrick

Douglas “Doug” Kenneth Deatrick, aged 63, passed away at his home on Monday, July 26, 2021.
Born January 2, 1958 in Chambersburg, PA, he was the son of Kenneth and Dessie (Mountain) Deatrick. He graduated from the Chambersburg Area Senior High School in 1975 and earned his degree in chemical engineering from Lafayette College in 1979. He married the love of his life, Margaret “Maggie” Regan, in 1983, and together, they moved to the Augusta area in the mid 90’s, where they remained until their deaths. He worked at Kemira Chemical Company.
He is survived by his beloved cat, Otis; his sisters Donna Bonitz (Edward) and Jody Spencer (Steve); sister-in-law Colleen Henderson; brothers-in-law James Regan and Daniel Regan; and many nieces nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Maggie.
A memorial service in his honor will be held in both Georgia and Pennsylvania.
3:00pm on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel in Evans, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
12:00pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Our Lady of the Visitation in Shippensburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Doug was an avid supporter of numerous charities.
