Doris Stevens Thomas

Doris Magdalene Thomas went to be with her Lord on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Augusta Gardens Senior Living Facility. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 22 at 2:00PM at Platt’s Funeral Home on Crawford Avenue. The service will follow immediately after visitation at 3:00PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the service at West View Cemetery.

Doris was the daughter of J.E. and Kate Stevens. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother W.A. Stevens and her husband Father Franklin B. Thomas, Jr. She lived all of her life in Richmond County. She attended Tubman High School. She was a bookkeeper and secretary at John P. King Manufacturing Company and later at Riverside Mill. She is survived by two sons, Frank B. Thomas, III and wife Deb, Edward Warren Thomas and wife Julie; and one daughter, Suzanne Renee Bass and husband David; grandchildren Brandon Thomas (Amy), Baylan Thomas (Amie Rae), Jamie Bass, Kathleen Cantey, Jennifer Kroger (Jae), and Andrew Thomas (Starlet). Great grandchildren Carter Thomas, Brady Thomas, Gracie Cantey, Bryce Cantey, Clay Thomas, Molly Thomas, Camille Kroger, Ellis Kroger, Maddie Bass, and Raina Thomas; Sisters MaryAnn Ergle and Pet Key. Pallbearers will be grandsons Brandon Thomas, Baylan Thomas, Jamie Bass, Jae Kroger, Andrew Thomas, Carter Thomas, Clay Thomas, Brady Thomas, and Bryce Cantey.
