Betty Dunn Smith

Betty Dunn Smith, resident of Augusta, GA, entered into rest on May 6th, 2021 peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87.

Betty is survived by her son, Francis Mckie Smith Jr.; her grandchildren Francis Mckie Smith III and Alana Moore; her great grandchild, Aspen Moore; Her sisters Linda D Barrett and Pat D Lange; her sister-in-law Donna Dunn; and her brothers William Dunn, Bobby Dunn, and Charles Dunn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Francis Mckie Smith Sr.; and her brothers Johnny Dunn, James Dunn, and Dennis Dunn.

Betty was born on July 12th, 1933 in Augusta. She was a devoted wife and mother and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her grandnieces and nephews.
She was a caretaker for her mother-in-law and her husband and never hesitated to help anyone in need.
Anyone who knew or met Betty loved her sweetness, kindness, and laughter. She loved working in her gardens, with her flowers, being outdoors and she especially loved taking care of children.
She enjoyed music, especially Patsy Cline, but most of all she loved her family.

There will be a private family viewing at Platts Funeral Home on Crawford Avenue in Augusta, GA, at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 10th, 2021.

The private viewing will be followed by a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery located at 2700 Deans Bridge Road in Augusta, GA at 12:00 p.m.
All are welcome to attend the graveside service.
