Baxter M. Clark

Augusta, GA---Mr. Baxter M. Clark, 87, entered into rest on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 11:00 am at The Hill Baptist Church, with Dr. Al Cadenhead and Dr. Michael Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Clark was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II, was a member of the Kiwanis Club and was a member and Deacon at The Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved working in his yard. Mr. Clark was retired from J. C. Stockton and Son.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his wife, Jean George Clark, his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his son Rusty Clark and wife Molly, of Evans, daughters, Sossette Shivers and fiance Tom Cochran, of Augusta, Margaret Brown and fiance Kevin Runnells, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Georgia Adams and husband Ray, of China Grove, NC, nine grandchildren, Torrey Clark, Tabitha Clark Lee, Clark Adams, Whitney Adams, Tiffany Hall, Aaron Brown, Taylor Strode, Courtney Tucker and Dustin Tucker, eight great grandchildren, Amber Hall, Emme Lee, Chandler Tucker, Calli Roberts, Destiny Tucker, Cameron Tucker, Hannah Clark and Trevor Lack and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Platt’s Funeral Home Crawford Avenue, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
