Barbara Mcclellan Cheek

Barbara McClellan Cheek 77 of Augusta Georgia entered into rest on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Doctors Hospital surrounded by her family after a long health battle.

Barbara was born on June 14, 1946 to the late John Ward and Helen McClellan.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Platt’s funeral home Crawford Ave. with Rev. Dusty Wammack officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Barbara worked at Krispy Kreme doughnuts for many years before leaving to be a full-time stay at home Nanny to her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener, crafter and enjoyed putting together puzzles and many other activities. She loved to stay busy, she was a very strong-willed and independent loving woman.

Barbara’s passion was taking care of her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to her late husband, Roger D. Cheek, Sr. of 48 years and loving Mom to her three children. She cherished her 8 grandchildren dearly. Whenever she was with them she would stay busy playing Uno, video games, board games, or activities outside. Her family was her greatest pride and treasure.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Anglea (Chris) Ellison of Athens, GA., her two sons, Roger (Erica) Cheek II of Washington, GA., and Randall (Jennifer) Cheek of Harlem, GA.; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Ansley) Ellison,

Adam (Danielle) Ellison, Lauren Cheek, Roman (Alexis) Cheek, Rylie Cheek, Aryana Cheek, Dillon (Brooke) Cheek and Madison (Zach) Clark. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Boston Ellison, Hank and Brantley Cheek, and Emmie Clark and one on the way. She is also survived by three brothers, J.W. (Diane) McClellan, Tommy (Becky) McClellan and Ira (Alice) McClellan.
