Anatol "Tony" Timov

Anatol Timov, 82, of Evans, Georgia, passed away on January 14, 2024 in Martinez, Georgia. "Tony" or "T" as he was more commonly called by family & friends, was born in Odessa, Russia to Olga Sajnow & Vasili Timofeew on September 8, 1942. Tony's family was very involved in the Russian Orthodox Church and continued honoring those traditions throughout his life with his own family later. Tony and his family survived war time and relocated to Argentina, later immigrating to the United States in 1962. He began his formal schooling for engineering in Buenos Aires and finished in Rochester, New York. He met and married his wife Lilian Staertow on May 31,1964 in Rochester, New York, had two daughters Natasha and Karina, and recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.


Tony enjoyed a very successful career in advertising as an art director, illustrator, designer & photographer for 55+ years, earning numerous awards for his work, including Car & Driver magazine. He was a gifted artist, musician, and loved playing, singing and dancing at family celebrations. Tony is survived by his wife Lilian, his daughter Natasha Abraham, husband Gary, children Sophia, Ryan, and Justin; daughter Karina, husband Joseph Ennis, and their children Chance & Alora Ennis, nephew Michael Staertow, wife Maryjo and children lan & Emma; niece Andrea Henry, husband Eric, children Tomas and Julia, and extended family and many wonderful friends. 


The family of the Timov's, Abraham's and Ennis's wish to extend their sincere thanks to Georgia Hospice Care, Kassie Scruggs, Montana Allen, Rosemary Gilman, & Jack Foley; Sodalis of Martinez, Ashley Kemp, and their dedicated nursing staff.


Tony had a huge heart and always helped anyone in need. He always strived for perfection in everything he did, had a great sense of humor, and an avid appreciation for music, art, soccer, drawing, designing, painting, landscaping, building and repairing. He also enjoyed traveling locally around his home in California, and later in South Carolina and Georgia.


Services will be held on at Platt's Funeral Home 337 N. Bel Air Rd. Evans, GA 30809 on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Jack Foley officiating, with burial to follow at Little Briar Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Warrenton, Georgia.


 Arrangements are made by Platt's Funeral Home in Evans, Georgia.
